The main reasons why the hammer crusher is not fine are that the sieve hole diameter is too large or the sieve plate is worn, the gap between hammer and sieve is not properly adjusted, the moisture content or size of the material is too high, and the hammer parameters do not match the material.

The following is a specific analysis:
I. Influencing Factors and Solutions
A. Diameter of sieve hole and sieve plate problem .
1. The mesh diameter is too large: the mesh diameter directly affects the final crushing fineness. If the screen hole selected by the user is too large, the finished particles naturally cannot reach the expected fineness.
2. Wear or damage of sieve plate: holes or wear may appear after long-term use of sieve plate, resulting in direct leakage of materials that are not fully crushed. Check and replace the sieve plate regularly.
B. Improper Adjustment of Hammer Sieve Clearance .

Excessive gap: the material layer is too thick, which weakens the grinding friction, resulting in large particles not being fully crushed;
The gap is too small: the material is discharged quickly and the residence time is insufficient.
The gap should be adjusted to 6-16mm according to the material characteristics (such as hardness and initial size).
C. Material Characteristics Are Not Standard .
The initial size is too large: if the material exceeds 60mm, it is difficult to enter the crushing cavity for full crushing.
It needs to be pre-crushed to a suitable size.
Excessive moisture content: moisture will increase the viscosity of the material and reduce the crushing efficiency.
For example, when the moisture content of corn exceeds 14%, the crushing efficiency decreases significantly.

D. Hammer Parameters And Operation State .
Too thick or too many hammers: too thick will reduce the hitting efficiency, while too much will increase the no-load energy consumption. It is suggested to use thin hammer pieces (such as less than 5mm) and arrange them reasonably.
E. Mismatch of Ventilation Volume .
Small sieve holes need to increase ventilation to improve efficiency, while large sieve holes need to reduce ventilation appropriately to avoid premature discharge of materials.
II. Examples And Suggestions:
If the particles are found to be too coarse when crushing corn, check whether the sieve holes are damaged (repaired or replaced) and whether the clearance between hammer and sieve is in the range of 8-12mm in turn, and ensure that the moisture content of corn is ≤14%.
Maintenance suggestion:
Clean the sieve plate regularly, check the wear of the hammer, and optimize the parameter combination according to the material characteristics (such as adjusting the speed and ventilation).
By adjusting the above factors, the crushing fineness of hammer mill can be significantly improved.
